Xylitol Kills Dogs
Xylitol is a product that has been used in low-carb recipes, various low-sugar commercial products, and some peanut butters.
I'm not going to discuss what Xylitol might be useful for, because even the tiniest amount can permanently harm or kill a dog.

It doesn't matter if you don't have dogs...what if you use Xylitol in a meal with guests, an almost invisible amount gets on someone's hands or clothing, and they take it home to their dog? What if they feed a leftover to their dog that contains it?
No one should ever use Xylitol, and it will never enter my kitchen.
How safe is xylitol for dogs?
"Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs. Even small amounts of xylitol can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), seizures, liver failure, or even death."
"If you think your dog may have eaten a product containing xylitol, call your vet, emergency clinic, or animal poison control center right away."
